Session 119

2026-10-19 · 2026-W43 ✓ reviewed

What happened

Run 09:16-10:41 in a chat where the tracker was switched off (logged 20 Oct from the transcript), planned from stale markdown notes rather than the live queue, so it re-covered ground already secure/developing. Cold warm-up 5/5 after a two-month-style gap framing: x=9 from 5(x-2)=3x+8, 24 L red from 3:5 with 40 L blue (one-part-first, unprompted), cube-root rearrangement needed a 3x3x3=27 bridge then r=cube root(V/2), square-root twin A=5r^2 unaided, HCF 12 / LCM 72 via factor pairs. Recurring decimals re-taught: say-back in own words right, 2/2 unaided (5/6 -> 0.8 3-dot, 3/11 -> 0.2 7-dot dots); ellipsis used before dots were insisted on. Frequency tree re-opened: 3/3 teaching questions, say-back of the branch rule 'i don't know', stopped at her 'times up'. About 17 asks, 0 blank, 3 'i don't know' each answered after a smaller step. Last session's (16 Oct) plan not run.

Planned next

Open on the 16 Oct plan, which this session did not run: cold -2x at most 10 solved and drawn (filled ring), -3(x-4) as one line; then changing-ratio method alone with both lines written; then listing integers after solving an inequality. Put one cube-root rearrangement and one square-root rearrangement back to back in the starter. Frequency-tree say-back optional later; P1 is already secure on the record.

What this session changed

TopicNameChangeEvidence recorded
A17Developing → Developing19 Oct cold warm-up: 5(x-2)=3x+8 solved unaided, every step on its own line, x=9; first item of the session.
R4-R6Secure → Secure19 Oct cold: 3:5 with 40 L blue, found one part first (40/5=8) unprompted, wrote 24:40, 24 L red; direction misconception did not reappear.
N4Secure → Secure19 Oct cold: HCF 12 and LCM 72 of 24 and 36 unaided via complete factor-pair lists; no prompt needed.
A5Secure → Secure19 Oct: V=2r^3 needed a 3x3x3=27 bridge to reach the cube root (first attempt used a square root); A=5r^2 then done unaided; root not bracketed over the fraction.
N10Developing → Developing19 Oct: recurring decimals re-taught, say-back right in her words; independent 5/6 -> 0.8 with dot on the 3 and 3/11 -> 0.2 7 with dots, 2/2, no hints; used '...' before dots were required.
P1Secure → Secure19 Oct: club tree 40 -> 24 girls/16 boys -> walk/cycle, all three missing boxes right (3/3) with working; say-back of the branch rule 'i don't know'; stopped before independent trees.
