English Language — Makeup of the missed Mon 19 Oct creative writing block (her extra Lit session on the 19th, #118, covers today's Lit block). The timetable would not accept the Monday block key on a Tuesday, so this is logged as an extra. Spelling starter 'actually' correct first go with meaning cue and first letters. Story task (W2.2, show character through one detail, session 97's task): she gave a good 'shake in his voice' example, then drafted footsteps, a ripped lid and a featureless face. After about an hour away she returned with a long branching-story passage: strong blinding-light opening and a bleeding-girl detail, but 'says with enthusiasm' is told not shown, dialogue runs on without new lines, and there is one comma splice ('...black suit, next to them is...'). Session stopped at 12:55 on her say-so before she fixed the splice; description vs story, still paragraph and exit ticket not reached. Spelling of 'featureless' wobbled three times (feterless, fetcherless).

Spanish — Maintenance slot 13:57-14:15 (18 min by the clock), run between blocks against the morning Spanish block that the app's Set 1 game (run 96, 34/43, 79%) had ticked but short; agreed end 14:12, stopped by her 'times up' at 14:15 with the timed paper at 14:30. Opened on session 123's plan. Cold sound checks, each its own message, answered within a minute: ll in caballo -> 'y', 1/1 (first fresh-word ll right; ella was j on 20 Oct); v in ventana -> 'b', 1/1 cold in a fresh word (vivir right 20 Oct); qu in quince -> 'kw', 0/1, told hard k with silent u (same rule as tranquila 20 Oct) and re-said. Then production of the two words the game missed, capital and full stop asked for up front: 'My brother plays football.' -> 'Mi hermano juegas fútbal.' at 14:09, 5 min after set. Right: Mi hermano (mi unaided first go), capital, full stop, verb stem juega-. Wrong: -s (you-ending) for he-form -a, al missing, fútbol misspelt (accent right). One hint given at 14:09 (-s is the tú ending; game said juega al; check the last letter); retry not answered at the stop. 4 items set, 4 attempted, 0 blank, no 'I don't know': 2 right first go, 1 wrong then corrected, 1 wrong with retry pending. Not run: -ar I/you/we form retrieved unaided; -er/-ir teach (owed since 8 Oct, not reached again); tu/su in a fresh sentence; divorciarse in a sentence; ch and ñ; no read-aloud of a full sentence (sounds were said aloud). No new content taught. Practice run 97 logged alongside.
English Literature — Paper #10 (Wednesday timed sitting, W43), English Literature section: 5/9. PORTAL: Q4 1/2 in 2 min; Q5 and Q6 blank, both flagged, section closed in 3 min against a 10 min guide. She reported after hand-in that Q5, Q6 and Q12 'glitched' and typed Q5 and Q6 in the exam-skills chat 14-19 min after close; they are marked from that text and DAD IS TO DECIDE whether they stand (portal-only Lit total: 1/9). Q4 (Ozymandias): 'cruel' right; both lines copied whole, no single word tied to an effect; 'to other kings he looks kind' unsupported. Q5 (London, everybody to particular, chat): 1/3 — individuals singled out, nothing on the reader, no institution. Q6 (how Blake presents the people, chat): 3/4 — three sentences, point, 'hapless Soldier's sigh' inside her sentence with a comment, Blake as subject of the last sentence but the point missed ('not as good as advertised'). Losses: technique on Q4 (no word picked) and Q5 effect; knowledge on Q5 institutions and Q6 why.
Computer Science — Paper #10 (Wednesday timed sitting, W43), Computer Science section: 8/14 in 11 min against a 16 min guide, 0 blank on the portal but Q12 was 'j'. Q7 1/1 (6 passes). Q8 0/1: 13 for 1+2+3+4+5 — rewrote the loop in Python instead of tracing it, no trace table. Q9 0/2: binary to decimal 179 (place value 34 for 32, and the line sums to 189 anyway); decimal to binary — decomposition 150=128+16+4+2 right, bits written with an extra 8 (10011110). Q10 3/3: three-number binary addition correct in 2 min, the stretch item. Q11 1/2: two consequences for hex, no fact (same as 19 Oct cold). Q12 (Python selection): portal 'j' at 1 min; she reported a glitch and typed the program in the exam-skills chat 11 min after close — marked from that: 3/5, input/int and all boundaries right, prints inside the branches instead of storing in advice, no single output. DAD TO DECIDE whether the chat Q12 stands (portal-only CS: 5/14). Every lost mark is technique: no trace, transcription on binary, fact-then-so-what frame not used, spec word 'store' not read.
Exam Skills — Paper #10, W43 (lang 13 / lit 9 / cs 14, 45 min). Warm-up run before the link this time: three quotations with a suggestion each on a tiny text, done in 9 min, all three valid, none with a reader effect. Started 14:42, closed by her at 36 min with 9 unused. Answered Q1-Q12 in order. Sections: Lang 7/13 in 11 min (guide 14), 0 blank; Lit on the portal 1/9 in 3 min (guide 10), Q5 and Q6 blank and flagged, never returned to; CS on the portal 5/14 in 11 min (guide 16), Q12 'j' after 1 min. No time hog: no question over its guide. At 15:25 she reported Q5, Q6 and Q12 'glitched' and typed them in this chat (Q12 15:29, Q6 15:32, Q5 15:37); marked from the chat text they add 7 marks: 20/36 with them, 16/36 on the portal. DAD TO DECIDE whether they stand; the glitch cannot be checked from here. Non-attempts on the portal: 3 of 12 questions, 12 marks, all with time left (7 Oct: 5 of 12 'skip'). 'Skip' typed: 0. Marks lost to technique rather than knowledge: about 12 of 16 — reader-effect clause absent on 4 quotation parts (Lang Q3 x3, Lit Q5), the 'what' strand restating the prompt (Q2), 'today' missed on Q1, no trace on Q8, two binary transcription slips (Q9), hex fact absent (Q11), 'store/output once' spec not read (Q12). Knowledge losses: London's institutions (Q5, Q6). Target from 7 Oct (first line on every question, no 'skip') met on the typed questions; unmet on the portal for Q5/Q6/Q12 if there was no glitch. Quotations in a language answer: 3 (7 Oct: 0). Largest question per section: Q3 6 min, Q6 1 min, Q12 1 min.

Missed

A missed block means nothing was logged against it, which is sometimes a logging failure rather than a missed morning. Movement and the review block are never listed here: they are ticked or they are not, and not ticking one costs nothing. A block marked by hand is Dad's word that it happened, counted apart from the blocks the record proves. An extra never offsets a miss; it is counted beside it.

Decisions for Dad

Decided in the review chat, never here. This page has no button that changes the record — tracker_excuse_block and tracker_decide_day_off are Dad's, in chat.

In the margin — the week's review

Written, not computed

One note per week, append-only. Version 1 of 1, written by the Friday routine on Friday 23 October at 21:04.

Held

Maths and Spanish carried the week above plan, and every Thursday and Friday study block except Spanish was logged. English Language moved on the reader-effect half of language analysis: three of three quotations with a reader line on a fresh passage, unaided (session 129), then isolated single words on cold contrast items (session 135). Wednesday's paper showed the right knowledge on typed questions: three quotations in the language answer, none over its time guide, and Q10 binary addition 3 of 3.

Slipped

Five study blocks have no work logged: Mon Lang creative writing (made up Tue as an extra), Tue Lit second text, Tue CS theory or code, Wed retrieval quiz, Fri Spanish vocab and reading. CS lost the most hours. On Wednesday's paper Lit Q5 and Q6 and CS Q12 are blank on the portal; the typed versions came after close and are Dad's call. Most lost marks are technique: no trace on Q8, no reader effect on Q5, binary transcription slips. D02 binary-decimal was demoted to gap on a third adding-line slip. Spanish -er/-ir teach is still owed since 8 Oct.

Next week

Next week starts with the Tuesday timed handwritten piece: Lit essay, next in the rotation after Lang Q5. Thursday's deep block falls to computer science (even ISO week). Start CS with the trace of the running-total loop and the handwritten while loop with no scaffold, both owed by 29 Oct. Dad to decide whether the chat answers to Q5, Q6 and Q12 stand, and to answer the three tests open three or more sessions (#97, #52, #39). The Mon-Tue and Wed-Fri misses are a pattern to take to term-planner if they repeat.

Rotation next

Lit essay (Tue timed); Thursday deep block: computer science

Written from the record at Fri 23 Oct 21:04 (5 missed · 0 excused).
